Who we are
Deyla is an app for iPhone and Mac made by Emincan Akyildiz, an individual developer (“Deyla”, “we”, “us”). This policy explains what the app does with your information. Questions: canakyildz53@gmail.com.
The basics
- There is no account and no sign-in.
- There are no ads, and no analytics or tracking SDKs in the app.
- We don’t sell your data or share it for advertising.
Your device and your iCloud
These are kept on your iPhone or Mac and are not sent to us:
- Your plans, reminders, principles, goals, routines, stones and streaks, alarms and brain-dump notes.
- Your home location, used for the arrive and leave reminder. The geofence runs on your device.
- Your Screen Time app selections. These go through Apple’s Family Controls, and the app never sees which apps you use.
If iCloud is on, your plans, reminders, principles, routines, recent brain-dump notes and progress also sync between your iPhone and Mac through your own iCloud account (Apple’s iCloud key-value storage). That goes between your devices and Apple; we never receive it.
Notifications and alarms are scheduled locally on your device.
Speech
When you speak to Deyla, your voice is transcribed by Apple’s Speech framework. This happens on your device where supported; otherwise Apple does it under Apple’s privacy policy. Deyla doesn’t record or keep audio.
Making a plan
To turn what you said into a plan, the transcribed text is sent over HTTPS to Deyla’s planning server, which is hosted on Modal in the USA.
The server doesn’t store the text. Its logs record only lengths, item counts and timings.
Deyla Pro
With Deyla Pro, the text goes to the Deyla Pro server (Modal, USA), which sends it to Anthropic’s Claude API (the Claude Haiku model) to make the plan. For a brain dump, the text and up to 6 photos you choose are sent the same way.
Deyla’s servers don’t store this text or these photos; their logs hold only counts and timings. Anthropic processes them under its commercial API terms. See Anthropic’s privacy policy.
Subscriptions
Purchases are handled by Apple. Deyla never sees your payment details, name, email or Apple ID.
To check a Pro subscription, the app sends Apple’s signed purchase record to our server. The server uses its anonymous transaction ID only to verify the subscription and to keep a daily usage counter.
Your own Claude API key
If you choose to use your own Claude API key, it is stored in your device’s Keychain, and those requests go directly from your device to Anthropic.
Help improve the planner
This setting is optional. When it’s on, your sentences and the plans made from them are saved only in a file on your device. They leave your device only if you export and share that file yourself.
Children
Deyla is not directed to children under 13.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted on this page with a new date.
